Christmas at the Point

On Saturday, my dad and I put together a float at the Point so we could join the Christmas Parade.
First, my dad bought a ten-foot long flat-bed trailer. We put balloons up. They said Merry Christmas everyone.
On our float, there were stars and tinsel. Jesus and Mary and the angels were sitting on the trailer. The Horotiu School kids were singing Christmas Carols. I came up with the name - Merry Christmas. We won the Float Parade and we got a 100 dollar reward.

Athletics Day

When I was eight years old, our school had an Athletics Day. We all competed in lots of events, like High Jump, Long Jump, Vortex, Shot Put, Discus and Sprints.First, we went to High Jump. There were six of us boys, and we wanted to see if I could get the highest. First, we started without the bar to practise. I jumped over the bar. I jumped so high, I almost licked a giant. I did six jumps until I knocked the bar off.
Next we went to Shot Put. We ran to Mrs Readman who was at shot put. The little kids shot put was as small as a mouse, and our shot put that we were using was as heavy as a boulder. It was fun. I came last,  but it was just luck. I said in my head, "321, crash to the ground! Bang!"
It finally hit the ground at 7metres.
Finally, we had a break, and after we went to Long Jump, I got 3rd out 6. I almost got to the end, and I flew like an eagle.
It was a fun day, but I was very tired when I got home from school that afternoon.
